The meeting was called to order by Chair. Jim Melin. There were 10 in attendance. The minutes of the December 10, 2009 meeting were read. There was a motion made by Roger Hinrichs to accept the minutes as read, second by Jeff Lade. The motion carried. The Treasurers report was reviewed with no corrections. Resident Issues: The Leglers were present and requested the board consider instituting a constable. They would like to see the issues with Fireworks and 4 Wheelers dealt with at the town level. There was discussion as to the feasibility of hiring a constable. We are aware that there would be a sizeable expense to the town not just in wages but also the liability insurance of having someone perform this duty. The discussion then turned to the board considering an ordinance to refuse the issuance of Fireworks Permits. Due to the fact that the board spent many months investigating the feasibility of having a noise ordinance and in the end being told by the County Sheriff that they cannot enforce this Ordinance for us we realize we would be dealing with the same issue of not being able to enforce this ordinance. The board therefore agreed it is not an ordinance they will adopt. Road Maintenance: Dwight has been salt sanding and also cutting back the roads to keep the snow off. Bills in the amount of $267,084.26 were approved for payment. Roger will be our representative at the Quarterly meeting on January 26th of the Northland Ambulance. Next Meeting will be February 4th, one week early due to a conflict, at 6:00 PM. The agenda will include looking at the States proposal to require all Assessments to be through the county level. We will look at a sample resolution from Wisc. Towns Assoc. to deal with this issue. There was a motion made by Jeff Lade to adjourn the meeting, second by Roger Hinrichs. The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned. Deborah L. Christian, Clerk
