Minutes/ Mthly. Bd. Mtg. August 12, 2010

The meeting was called to order by Chair. Jim Melin.  There were 9 present.  Minutes of the July 8, 2010 meeting were read.  Motion to approve the minutes by Jeff Lade, second by Roger Hinrichs,  carried.  The Treasurers report was reviewed.  There is a total of $247,147.77 in all accounts.  Motion made by Roger Hinrichs to accept the Treasurers report, second by Jeff Lade, carried.  Res. Issues:  Patsy Tucker showed the Board information concerning the Grantsburg Fire Assoc. current method of allocating their budgets funding and 3 other possible means of determining each municipalities share of the budgets funding.  Jim will speak with our representative, Donald Melin and request he make it known which method would best serve the Town of Trade Lake.  There was discussion concerning the problems we are having with our recycling and possible solutions.

July 8, 2010 Mthly. Mtg.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jim Melin.  There were 7 in attendance.  Minutes of the June 8, 2010 meeting were read and approved,   The Treasurers report was read, total assets in all accounts are $258,964.38.  Motion made by Roger Hinrichs to accept report as read, second by Jeff Lade, carried.   Resident Issues:  Evelyn Carlson asked if the County has responded to our concerns about the old creamery building.  She stated that there were many people in and out during the 4th of July Holiday weekend.  Deb has contacted the County and was told they would be addressing it.  Road Maintenance:  Spirit Lake Road will be paved on July 20.   There was discussion as to the need to repair the cracks on Pine Lake Rd.  Dwight had a bid from Fahrner for $4455.00.  Jim shared that he has received information concerning a new method for repairing cracked roads that he believes we should consider.  Monarch will also do some patching on Pine Lake Road.  Dwight will gather more bids and look into the cost of using the new type of repair.  The Board authorized Dwight to hire the lowest bidder, R/J/C.  There was no response to our newspaper ad to purchase a used trailer.   There was a motion made by Roger Hinrichs to purchase a trailer from Trailer City in Grantsburg, second by Jeff Lade, the motion carried.  Bills in the amount of $43,573.22 were approved for payment.  Agenda for August meeting: Minutes, Treas. Report, Resident Issues, Rd. Mtc. Report, Wage Review, Bills.  The next meeting will be August 12, 2010 at 6:00 pm.  There was a motion made by Jeff Lade to adjourn, second by Roger Hinrichs.  The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned.     Deborah L. Public Hearing

May 8, 2010

The hearing was called to order by Chair. Melin.  There were 12 in attendance.  The purpose of this hearing is to vote on an ordinance to adopt the draft of the Comprehensive Plan presented by the Planning Commission.  The board entertained the option to postpone voting until a monthly town board meeting.  Those residents in attendance requested the board vote as was noticed.  They voiced their desire to see this process go forward and feel that for this to happen the board needs to vote on the ordinance to adopt this draft.  There was a motion made by Roger Hinrichs to pass Ordinance No. 01-2010 to adopt the Town of Trade Lake 2030 Comprehensive Plan, second by Jeff Lade.  The motion carried and the ordinance was passed.  This ordinance shall take effect upon passage and and posting.  There was a motion made by Jeff Lade to adjourn the Public Hearing, second by Roger Hinrichs.  The motion carried and the Public Hearing was adjourned.

The meeting was called to order by Chair. Jim Melin.  There were 9 in attendance.  The minutes of the May 13, 2010 meeting were read.  Motion by Roger Hinrichs to approve the minutes as read, second by Jeff Lade.  The motion carried.  Treasurers Report was reviewed, there are $262,907.94 available in all accounts.  There was a motion made by Jeff Lade to accept the Treas. Report, second by Roger Hinrichs.  The motion carried.  Resident Issues:  Evelyn Carlson made the Board aware that there are people going into the abandoned creamery building.  It is the boards understanding that this property belongs to Burnett County.  The clerk will inform the County of this dangerous situation.

Annual Meeting - 2010

ANNUAL MEETING - APRIL 20, 2010

The meeting was opened by Chair. James Melin.  There were 11 in attendance.  The minutes of the 2009 Annual meeting were read.  There was a motion made by Jeff Lade to accept the minutes as read, second by Roger Hinrichs.  The motion carried. The Financial Report was reviewed.  There was a motion made by Roger Hinrichs to designate $10,000 be put into the Machinery Fund, second by Van Brock.  The motion carried.  There are no Capital Expenditures planned for 2010 as we are still making payments on the grader.  The board intends to pave Spirit Lake Road E and will recieve LRIP funds to help defray the cost of this project.  Road Inspection will be held on May 6, 2010 at 3 p.m.  The board will meet at the Town Shop and proceed from there.  There was a motion made by Jeff Lade to continue to support the Burnett County Ag. Soc. Fair as we have in the past.  We pay a portion of the Insurance as do other towns.  Roger Hinrichs seconded, the motion carried.  Derek Zeiler, fire chief of Grantsburg Vol. Fire Dept. gave a report on the past years activities, expenditures and future plans.  He also entertained questions from those present.  He also requested the Board consider updating the existing Fire Ordinance we currently have in place.  There was no fire report from the Frederic Fire Dept.  The dates for the Open Book and Board of Review are May 21 & 22 to be noticed.  The proposed date for the next Annual Meeting is April 19, 2011.  There was a motion made by Jeff Lade to adjourn the Annual Meeting, second  by Roger Hinrichs.  The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned.      Deborah L.
