Trade Lake is located in Burnett County in the Northwest corner of Wisconsin.  The town has a total area of 35.5 square miles, 32.5 square miles of land and 3.0 square miles of water.  Approximately 8.42% is water.

The 2000 census has 871 people in Trade Lake.  The estimated population for 2008 is 970 (August 2008), an increase of 99 people since 2000 or 11.4% in comparison the state of Wisconsin pop. grew by 5.8% in the same time frame.  The census bureau estimated that in 2000 there were 366 households and 260 families residing in the Town of Trade Lake.  The population density in 2000 was 26.8 people per square mile.  Today there are 29.85 per square mile.

Trade Lake sits at an elevation of 945 ft. above sea level.

Trade Lake boasts a number of  fishing lakes, an abundance of wildlife and numerous species of birds and fowl.  We are mainly a farming community but see a steady shift to tourism.

Our natural resources lend themselves to many diverse businesses and hobbyists.
